The current at home teaching and learning setup can cause a lot of anxiety for both parents and children. Getting started is the hardest part. The first thing I would suggest doing on this journey is to provide your child with a blank notebook. A composition journal, the kind with the black and white marbled front that we all remember, would be great. Having the journal will track your child’s progress and everything you have worked on together during the quarantine. Almost any activity and/or subject can be done with writing. And, a journal is also great for cutting down on mess. No more messy papers everywhere!

The journal is a gateway to 'getting started' each morning. Have your child bring the journal to the table each morning to begin your learning session.

Let me know if you got a journal and are using it on your quarantine learning journey! I'd love to hear how it is going. Contact me in the "contact" section of the blog with any questions or comments!
